Your answers never leave your browser. Every question you check, every note you write, and the results we build from them are calculated on your own device and stored there. They are never sent to us, and we could not read them if we wanted to.
There is no account. We do not know who you are.
The forty questions, the follow-ups, the two written notes, and everything the tool calculates from them are handled entirely inside your browser using something called local storage. That is a small amount of space on your own device that this website can write to and read from.
Nothing about your relationship is transmitted to a server. There is no database of answers anywhere. If you clear your browser data, or open the site in private browsing, your answers are gone and we cannot recover them, because we never had them.
Because answers are saved in the browser, someone else using the same browser on the same device could open the site and see them. There is a "start over" button at the end that clears everything. If privacy at home is a concern, use a private or incognito window.
At the end, you can enter an email address to get your results sent to you, or to receive one check-in message six weeks later. This is optional and the tool works fully without it.
If you enter it, here is exactly what happens:
If you pay to remove ads and download your results, the payment is handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us. We receive confirmation that a payment happened, not who made it or what they answered.
We count how many people visit, which pages they reach, and where they stop. This is how we learn whether the tool is too long or the questions are confusing.
We use a privacy-focused analytics service that does not set cookies, does not build a profile of you, and does not follow you to other websites. We cannot connect a visit to a person, and we cannot see what anyone answered.
The results page links to books, podcasts, therapist directories, and support communities. Some book links are affiliate links, which means we earn a small commission if you buy through them. This is disclosed on the page itself.
Affiliate links do not change what gets recommended. The recommendations are driven by what you checked, and the same books would appear whether or not they paid anything.
Once you click through to another site, that site's privacy policy applies, not ours. We have no control over what they collect.
If ads appear, they are not targeted based on anything you answered. The ad network does not receive your responses, your results, or any profile of you. We block categories that would be inappropriate here, including dating, weight loss, and gambling.
This tool is built for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete information held about you. In practice, the only thing we could ever hold is an email address you chose to give us, and you can have it deleted by asking.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, the date below changes and the change is described here rather than quietly edited in.
